Podcast & talk at Mumbocetra is for hosts, editorial teams and companies who want broadcast-ready speech without building acoustic treatment and multitrack routing themselves. Up to 4 people sit at the round table with dedicated mics; we record every voice separately so level differences can be fixed later.
The talk room is one of 3 spaces at Neubaugasse 40 — tuned for conversation, not drum bleed. Recording engineer Tobias Grünwald handles live and podcast sessions; clarify guest rights before you publish using our guest release guide.
How it works
Define the show
Tell us runtime, headcount, whether you need basic trim and preferred dates via contact or [email protected]. Quote within 2 business days including 30 % deposit.
Arrive
Take U-Bahn line U3 to Neubaugasse; from there it is about a 4-minute walk along Neubaugasse. Tram lines 49 and 13 also stop at Neubaugasse or Siebensterngasse, each a short walk away. From Wien Westbahnhof, U3 is one stop towards Simmering. — hours Tue–Fri 9–20, Sat 10–16. Quick briefing on mic distance and pop filters; water and headphones available. Tech check takes about fifteen minutes.
Record
You host at your pace; the engineer watches levels and files. Breaks anytime — for live streams we coordinate short silence for cues.
Deliver
Separate WAV tracks plus optional stereo mix; basic trim only if quoted. Download or drive; storage 24 months under terms.
Formats we host
Weekly interview shows, three- or four-person panels, internal HR or product podcasts, and moderator-plus-guest narratives. Remote guests via routed call audio are possible — quality depends on their setup and we will say so upfront.
Not a video studio: bring cameras if you like; picture and lighting are on you. Audio stays the priority. Intro jingles belong in a separate Vocals & singing iso-booth booking.
Room and mics
The talk room seats up to 4 with upholstery that limits flutter and a layout suited to long conversations. Boom or table mics with pop filters control plosives; each feed hits its own channel on the 32-input desk.
We do not share the loud live-room footprint — no drum spill. That is the practical difference from Band in the live room. Host headphone mixes are optional; many guests speak open-air for a natural tone.
How a booking runs
Minimum age 16; minors in published shows need guardian consent. Book within Tuesday–Friday 9:00–20:00, Saturday 10:00–16:00. Closed Sunday and Monday.; Saturday hours are shorter — do not plan heavy editing in the final minutes of the slot.
The two-hour package (€255) fits many 45–60 minute conversations plus setup. The six-hour day package (€520) suits batch recording several episodes. Hourly (€88) works for pilots or retake blocks.
Content prep
Outline, question list or script as PDF is enough — we do not print confidential material without approval. Guest names for track labels save sorting time. Licensed music only; we will not play unlicensed chart tracks as continuous background.
Read the guest release guide: written consent for name, voice and use prevents disputes later. Corporate shows may need a data processing agreement when employee data is involved — see privacy policy.
Files, edit and revisions
Default: each voice as 24-bit 48 kHz WAV plus an uncut stereo mix for quick review. Basic trim (top/tail silence, obvious false starts) only when quoted — not a substitute for editorial cut in your DAW.
Heavy post, music beds, chapter markers or loudness finishing are extras or your in-house workflow. Stem mixing includes 2 revision rounds for mix-style work; raw podcast time does not mean unlimited edit loops.
Rates and tax
Listed rates include 20 % VAT; net on request (example session net: €212.50). 30 % deposit holds the date; balance on the day or invoice with 14 days for businesses.

Not included
Spotify or Apple hosting, RSS setup, cover art, marketing and transcription sit outside the session. We do not promise download numbers or chart placement.
Guest travel, catering and parking (Neubau: public transport) are yours. Illness or no-show follows terms; early email to [email protected] helps reschedule.
Studio vs home recording
Home rooms pick up HVAC, traffic and hard reflections — hard to remove in post. Our space is built so speech stays forward. Split tracks mean a quiet guest is not buried by a loud host once you adjust levels.

FAQ
Can we eat in the talk room?
Water and light snacks are fine; crunchy or strong-smelling meals wait for the lounge break — we protect mics and fabric. The lounge is next door.
Do guests need a release?
For publication, yes — at least written consent for voice and name. The guide covers what companies often miss.
Live streaming?
Bring your encoder or laptop; we feed clean audio to the recording. Internet login and platform quality are on you — test at home first.
When do files arrive?
Often same day via link; long sessions may take a few business days. Copying to your SSD on site avoids waiting on uploads.
How is this different from the band room?
Band in the live room is for loud instruments and big footprint; Podcast & talk is table-centred and speech-first. Both under one roof in Wien.
